Working shoulder-to-shoulder with Zunaid Memon is Dr. Sudarshana Ramaraju, co-founder and Global President of Climate Action for the ARDEA Foundation.
A distinguished climate change and sustainable development expert, Dr. Sudarshana Ramaraju’s illustrious career spans over 36 years, with notable work for the Govt. of India and the United Nations in various capacities.
Dr. Sudarshana’s significant contribution to the United Nations Security Council as a senior functionary played a vital role in the sustainable development of war-torn countries, restoring their environments to the pre-conflict conditions.
Previously, Dr. Sudarshana dedicated several years of his professional life to the Regional Seas Programme of the UN Environment, coordinating efforts among the Persian Gulf Member States towards safeguarding the Persian Gulf region.
Before serving the United Nations Secretariat, Dr. Sudarshana coordinated the UN Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in the Asia Pacific and spearheaded the strategic planning matters of India’s earth observation applications at the Indian Space Research Organisation.
Currently, an advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi on climate change, Dr. Sudarshana Ramaraju brings his valuable expertise as a distinguished policy and strategy advisor to support founder Zunaid Memon’s mission to restore the environment.
Over his long-standing significant professional experience, Dr. Sudarshana Ramaraju has gained specialized knowledge in diverse fields, possessing expertise in large-scale environmental management, environmental monitoring, capacity building, inter-governmental project development & management, disaster mitigation, climate change adaptations, satellite applications, United Nations multi-country program management, implementation of MEAs, servicing protocols and conventions, environmental diplomacy, state of the environment reporting, information system management and institutional management.
On a different environmentally conscious front, Dr. Sudarshana Ramaraju’s profound passion for organic farming and unwavering commitment to a sustainable world led to the creation of “Farmer’s House,” an organic retail outlet and a haven for organic enthusiasts in the vibrant city of Mysuru.
