Day 11: Fasting For Food Secure World
In a world where every single day, an estimated 25,000 people, including more than 10,000 children, die from hunger and related causes, we continue to waste food.
In a world where 3.1 million children die of poor nutrition and hunger, we waste food.
In a world where many die of hunger and children suffer from malnutrition, approximately one-third of food produced for human consumption is either lost or wasted globally, amounting to about 1.3 billion tons a year.
With Day 11, “Fasting For Food Secure World,” the final day of our global ecological movement, 11 Days for Earth’s Healing, we at ARDEA Foundation aim to draw the attention of the world toward the often neglected and overlooked subject of food security, overconsumption, and wasted food.
“Day 11: Fasting For Food Secure World” is a step in the right direction toward a food-secure world, raising awareness and promoting a more sustainable way of living.
Observing a fast can help us reduce our consumption and pressure on nature, leading to a healthier and more sustainable planet.
Let’s come together on May 11th, contribute to a food-secure world, and fast for a tomorrow where no one sleeps empty stomach.
