We’re in a Climate Emergency!
Earth Day is observed on April 22 every year. The theme for this Earth Day is “Restore Our Planet”. As the climate worsens, the importance of Earth Day gets more and more prominent. The call for action is the necessity of the moment that focuses upon natural processes or green technologies as well as improved human activities to restore the world’s ecosystem. One of the major agendas today is climate and environmental literacy.
Climate and environmental literacy allow citizens to understand the prospects of Earthly benefits. It also aims at creating jobs, improving consumer markets, and most importantly an awakening call to restore the broken climate. While the world already seems to know the importance of earth healing, the educational revolution could lead to saving the planet mutiny. To support the cause earthday.org has taken a brilliant initiative to train educators, activists, and others on practices of restoring the earth.
Climate and environmental literacy focus upon the necessary education for a change drive, it helps one know the importance of certain factors in altering the process of climate change. It also brings awareness among people about the harmful activities that lie central to the drive. But most importantly, climate literacy can actually help the young children as well the climate change deniers to accept that climate crises are real. Acknowledgment from the people is the very first step towards the call for change.
Along with the government, it is important for the people to show concern and contribute effectively in the process of recovery. This is our world and we are its tenant, it’s our responsibility to look after it and repair it when required. It is therefore well clear, without taking any initiative the world can’t change. Global issues require global solutions- Together we can solve them. Think, research, and understand how your one step can change the world.
